The Wayne State University School of Social Work has established an endowed scholarship fund to support students in its new doctoral-degree program. Friends and family members of Mavis M. Spencer, associate professor emerita, who retired from the school in May, started the endowment to recognize her contributions to Wayne State , the Detroit community and the social work profession.
